Because they’re setting you up to develop basic golf habits which will eventually lead to a better golf swing. Try these basic body movement exercises. 1. You can either head to a practice range or simply do this in your backyard. Practice a few swings. Your coach will be analysing your body movement and making notes.

2. Footwork is vitally important. If you place your right foot closer to the ball than the left you will likely hook the ball. If the left foot is placed to far away from the right then the slice comes into play. You should be aiming for a square stance in most cases with both feet at an equal distance from the ball.

3. Next you will be aiming to get a synchronized action between knees, hips and legs. Knees should be slightly flexed. This should be practiced regularly in the initial stages. Just playing air shots will suffice as you get used to the action. Your right leg should remain flexed.

4. In combination with the previous action your arms come into play now. With your back swing winding up, your shoulders will be turning against your right hip. Don’t bend the arms at the elbow. A good indicator for right-handed players is the positioning of the chin just above the left shoulder. It’s the opposite for lefties.

5. Learning to adapt the swing routine in practice will get you used to these golf swing basics as well as develop a little flexibility in your body. For example, practicing hip movement without turning the upper body. It’s a little strange I know but each area can be practiced individually before they’re all combined to produce the basic golf swing.

The most important aspect of the instruction is missing. Golf swing improvement can be elusive for most golfers. I have read many articles and studies on the huge number of golfers quitting the game every year. They are tired of putting in the time, buying equipment, taking lessons, and purchasing every golf training aid on the market only to see no golf swing improvement.

You can’t fault a frustrated golfer who experiences the above and quits. Life is too short to spend 5 hours on a golf course and not enjoy it.

Let’s discuss why this happens!

First off, golf swing improvement should be approached from the inside-out. That means starting with your body. If your body has physical restrictions, you won’t ever be able to make a repeatable golf swing with any power or accuracy. It’s a physical impossibility.

You can try-and-try, but it won’t happen!

You body dictates your golfing ability. Like in any sport, raw talent is hard to come by and is only for a small percent of the athletic community.

Do you feel like you should be a better golfer? How many times have you walked off the course in disgust…knowing you should have played much better? This is a common occurrence and one that can be fixed quickly.

The right approach to golf swing improvement is one that looks at your current golf swing faults and the ‘physical’ reason behind it. I see this all the time. A golfer takes a lesson; the instructor tells the golfer what he needs to do; and the golfer can’t do it!

What a frustrating situation!

For every swing fault, there is an underlying ‘physical’ reason why it keeps happening.

Let me give you one of many examples to substantiate the above statement.

You are a slicer. That means you come “over-the-top” with your upper body. Do you want to know one of the many reasons why this happens?

Here goes!

You have poor core strength and flexibility.

If your body cannot initiate the downswing with the lower body, especially the hips rotating; it is because your core muscles are sending a message to your brain saying, “we can’t do this, so figure out another way (compensation) to get me back to the ball.”

Now the upside to this scenario.

You work on your core rotational strength and flexibility. You don’t hit more balls. You don’t add more swing thoughts to your swing. You don’t do drills at the range til your hands are bleeding. You just improve your core. That’s it!

The result?

You are able to initiate the downswing with your lower body, create and retain stored energy in your core area, and you not only stop your slice, but you add 30 yards to your drives!

That’s golf swing improvement the right way!

Again, this is just one example of a golf swing fault; and the cause and solution to eliminating it forever.

Now golf is fun again!

Positive and negative energy, it’s how we walk, talk, chew, live and play golf too, but to do it with precision and grace is to coexist without conflict.

This has everything to do with golfing and beyond? It is who and what we are to the very core. Our very being is a part of the very world in which we live in and to connect harmoniously is to be able to “feel” the way not see it with open eyes. In other words a good golf swing becomes “the golf swing”. it’s like a key to a lock, theoretically, there is but one key for one lock that will gracefully unlock any door. When you find touch you will see things that few people will ever see because you can’t see it with your eyes you can only see it through your soul. It’s not a physical connection but a spiritual, if you will, one that you have to guide you as you block all that is distracting around you when you are concentrating on your tee off. How will you know when you have touch? You’ll know because you’ll feel nothing but it, nature, the golf course. It’s all about feeling not about seeing, at least not in the sense most see. Learn for the first time about self through becoming one with golf and a good golf swing will become the golf swing. The only swing for you that will define your game and make it original, not like anyone elses game but your own.

Each person (golfer) has their own game and the challenge is not to play the game of golf but to find ones self through playing the game of golf. Not only will you have a unique game from anyone elses but your game will be much, much, more productive. It will be your own. Most peoples problems lie in the fact that they try to mimic or (Imitate a person or manner) instead of finding their own originality, something that all of us possess but so few find. Thats also why a person who finds themselves stand out so vividly (stand out uniquely) almost like someone extraordinary, which is as it should be for all. To find ones own originality is to find ones self and unfortunately one cannot and will not accomplish a feat such as this with merely a good golf swing. At least one of everyones life’s goal should be to find themselves, everything else will be of their own originality and not mimic someone elses.
